Ricky Bruni. Back in 1969
Ricky Bruni is a rising DJ on the London club circuit.
He is currently a regular at 'The Gallery at Ministry of Sound' and is building a profile
as a stylish house music producer..
Originating from Italy he started his musical journey at a young age playing various musical instruments and working for Italian based radio station 'Radio Puto'.
He swiftly progressed and started hosting his own dance chart radio show and joined 'Veronica Hit Radio Network' whilst also playing at a number of key clubs such as Baia Imperiale, Colosseo, Onirika, Byblos Prince and Echoes.
He has previously released music internationally on labels such as 'Sheeva Records, Zemi , Border Records, Purple Edge, D- Lab and Dub Records and received great applause.
The inspiration for his sound comes from the likes of Booka Shade, Dubfire, Umek, Portman, Wally Lopez, Paul Thomas, Graeme Lloyd, Gavyn Mytchel, Peo de Pitte and Sonny Wharton and this is evident in his recordings.
His unique sound is very house driven with a touch of European techno; it builds musically with great dynamics and includes production trickery.
The title 1969 is very hooky and is very fitting to Ricky's influences. It includes a remix from Blue Amazon's Fire Trax project which strips the baseline from the original and builds a groove drive sound around it.

Syzthaime. Refuge In The Mountains
Syzthamie returns to the convert platter with a superb release titled "Refuge in the Mountains".
For those who follow convert will know that "Syzthaime" is a fresh young artist from "Tours" in France.
His first release on Convert was a progressive double tracker titled "Cyztaline and Gyztyle'.
The release received great applause from a number of progressive names in the industry and hit the play lists of many.
He also remixed Lucas Oggier 'That's it 'for Convert which was another great sonic master piece and has released projects with other outlets.
"Refuge in the Mountains" would probably be best described as progressive techno.
It combines deep electronic sounding progressive house with a darker techno edged bassline.
It's uncomplicated in its production but all the parts work well and it as intensity about it.
If house is more your sound "Blue Amazon's" Fire Trax remix is also included.
This mix takes a number of elements from the original but re works them into a deeper house sound.
The production on this mix is quite dark in places and as a stripped down feel about it, think on the lines
of "Kink" or John Tejada'

Blue Amazon . Re unite ep
Blue Amazon's Unite was originally released on Convert in Dec 2009 and received great applause from a number of key club DJs.
One of those DJs was Carl Cox who not only supported the release but included the original mix on a new club related film called "You Instead".
"You Instead" is a film about two Djs who are altercated whilst attending the UK festival "T in The Park". The film features Carl Cox and part of his DJ set whilst playing "Blue Amazon Unite".
This re release of 'Unite' coincides with the film release and includes some new remixes as well as the original for any one who missed it the first time around.
The new Blue Amazon remixes follow the style of their new house drive project 'Fire Trax'.

The first 'Fire Trax' mix takes on the theme of the original but directs it more towards a house / tech house feel. It reworks the Techno esq chords and the bassline into a funkier grooving sound and although it's slightly lower in tempo it maintains the energy of the original.
The second 'Fire Trax' mix is re-worked in a completely different house style.
It features classic stabby house chords, funky acidic bassline combined with original
house music drum programming.
The original - alternative mixes are included for anyone who missed them the first time around and are best described as Progressive Techno.
The mixes are quite electronic sounding with a very techno sounding chord stab throughout. There is a lot of off beat percussive elements as well as dynamic breaks and builds.

Piston Lairy. I want Porno Ep
Originally hailing from the funky Parisian suburb of Montreuil Convert presents a new artist 'Piston Lairy'
'Piston's' sound comprises from array of influences including Electro funk, House and Progressive.
'I Want Porno' is the first slightly provocative Ep from 'Piston' and includes two mixes from himself and an additional remix from Convert's 'Shango'.
The two 'Piston' mixes merge 4/4 disco beats with 80's sounding synth lines and classic house chords.
Shango's Tek mix channels the energy more towards a funky progressive sound.
Both set of mixes are suited for a variety of sets.

Blue Amazon. Fire Trax
Over the years Blue Amazon have been notorious for releasing up tempo Progressive house numbers edging on techno and trance influences.
This project ("Fire Trax") is different in that it centres around a slightly slower tempo (125 to 127 bpm) and deeper house sounds. .
The first edition of the project includes two tracks titled "Fire Trax 1" and Fire " Fire Trax 2".
Fire Trax 1 is a bassline driven groover with a disco style arpeggiator,
classic house chords and vocal snippets which add to the mood of the track.
There is a hint of Blue Amazon's original string / Pad sound but the track keeps the groove rolling throughout.
Fire Trax 2 takes the percussive elements from track one with a slightly faster tempo and a harder Techy influence.
The bassline is quite driving with a fat undertone that makes the feel of the track bounce a bit more.
There's more effected vocals included and a cool disco space snyth solo which really binds the track together
